Guest FAQ

What is Vacation by the Sea?

Vacation by the Sea is a family owned and operated vacation home rental business. We have professionally managed vacation rental properties on the South Beach since 2003, mostly in the Westport by the Sea complex.  The condominiums we manage are privately owned and furnished by the homeowners so each has its own feel and style.

Our staff is committed to ensuring you have a fun and relaxing time while staying with us.  We know the area so don't hesitate to contact us for ideas on what to see and do.  Our main office is located at 260 E Dock St. in the Westport Marina District.  We have staff onsite 7 days a week to provide anything you may need during your stay, just give us a call!

Why vacation in Westport?

There are so many wonderful things to see and do on the South Beach!  Westport is Washington's Original Beach Town with guests coming here for rest and relaxation for over 100 years.  Fashion and how to get here may have changed but families still love exploring the beach and spending time together.

Where are the condos located?

Our vacation condos are located at 1600 W Ocean Ave, Westport, WA 98595 in the Westport by the Sea complex.  The property is located at the end of Ocean Ave right next to the Pacific Ocean.

What is a Vacation Rental Program?

A vacation rental is very much like your own home.  Our condos are all individually owned and furnished with all the amenities you would expect in a vacation home.  For more information regarding how a Vacation By The Sea vacation rental differs from a hotel, please see our Vacation Rental vs. Hotel page.

How are cancellations/refunds handled?

We hope you won't need to cancel your beach vacation but we understand the unexpected can happen.  The terms and conditions associated with your rental agreement will clearly communicate penalties associated with canceling your reservation.  Please note that cancellations due to weather conditions are not permitted.

Can we just clean up after our stay and not pay the Cleaning Fee?

The short answer is no, but please let us explain.  We want you to come to one of our vacation rentals to relax and not worry about how clean the bathroom is or wonder if the last guest remembered to change the sheets. By charging a cleaning fee we can guarantee that the condo is maintained at our high standard of cleanliness by having our professional staff do the cleaning.  Everyone benefits from it.  We know from our own experience renting other vacation condos that everyones clean is not the same, especially if you are the unlucky one who came in after the folks who's attitude was "It's good enough, we're out of here".

Let's be real, most folks don't want to spend 2 to 3 hours cleaning toilets, vacuuming, doing laundry, making beds, etc. before they load up to drive home so the cleaning fee charged is money well spent.  Our condos are well stocked with ammenities and we can always provide more during your stay if needed.  We also believe in providing living wage jobs for our cleaning staff, who are community members, so they are insured professionals who work very efficiently.

What if there is a problem during my vacation?

We ask that you report any problems immediately.  Contact information will be provided in the pre-arrival instructions and also posted in the rental.  The telephone number listed in this information will be your best resource to quickly resolve any issues.

What happens when I get ready to leave?

Please ensure all appliances are off, windows and doors are locked, and the unit is secure.  Complete the departure checklist located on the back of the entry door.  Check to make sure that all your personal items are packed and nothing is left behind.  Please leave all 3 sets of keys (2 paddle keys, 1 lock box key) on the hook by the door and lock the door as you leave.
